Yoga & Environment

As an Environmental Specialist (my day job) I’m all too aware of the impacts of climate change and the urgency of action that is required. But for many of us this can seem overwhelming, we struggle to see how we can make a difference, but I passionately believe that through our individual actions we can have a positive impact and influence and that there is hope. This is the same with our yoga practice, we work on ourselves first and then let the benefits ripple out towards our families and community.

During my Yoga and Environment Workshops I bring my two passions together with the intention of deepening your understanding of yogic philosophy and inspiring you to take action against climate change. For example what can the teachings on Dharma and Non-Dualism teach us about our relationship with the environment? How could the Yama and Niyamas, as described by Patanjali help us live a more sustainable life?

Classes will begin with a short discussion on a yogic and environmental theme, followed by a gentle asana practice (posture and movement), pranayama and meditation. There'll also be practical tips to inspire you to take personal action in both protecting the environment and in your yoga practice.
